In 1989, I took over this dental practice, which was already located in this remarkable listed building. At the time, it consisted of just one treatment room and around 50 m² of space.

Over the years, the practice has grown considerably. Today, we have more than thirty team members, around 10,000 patients, ten treatment rooms and an in-house dental laboratory. By working closely with colleagues with different areas of expertise, we are able to offer a broad range of dental care, including root canal treatment, cosmetic dentistry, paediatric dentistry and preventive care.

What makes the practice particularly special to me is the diversity of our patients. People from many different professions, cultures and backgrounds come through our doors, which reflects the character of Rotterdam perfectly.

I am also passionate about art, and this can be seen throughout the practice. Over the years, I have occasionally exchanged dental treatment for a sculpture, a painting or even a collection of short stories.

My philosophy is simple: you have to make something of life yourself. Dentistry can become routine, so I believe it is important to keep seeking new challenges and continue developing.
