Jerryt Feenstra

I was born and raised in Friesland, surrounded by greenery and water. Even during secondary school, I knew one thing for certain: I wanted to become a dentist. Due to the limited number of places available for dental school, however, that path was not immediately open to me. After my first unsuccessful application, I began studying Health Sciences in Rotterdam. I quickly fell in love with the city and promised myself that one day I would return.

As Dentistry was not offered in Rotterdam and remained my greatest ambition, I moved to Groningen. After another unsuccessful application, I completed a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. Eventually, the detour still led me to where I had always wanted to be: Dentistry. In 2019, I graduated as a dentist.

After working for several years in the north of the Netherlands in various dental practices, both as a locum dentist and as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Groningen, I returned to Rotterdam in 2023. I now live in Rotterdam-West with my girlfriend and enjoy walking from home to the practice.

I currently work at the practice on Thursdays, Fridays and occasionally on Saturdays, with the ambition to further expand my work in Rotterdam in the coming years.

I have not quite been able to say goodbye to Friesland just yet, so I also work three days a week in a pleasant group practice in Heerenveen. After more than two and a half years of working in Rotterdam, however, the city increasingly feels like the place where I want to build more of my professional future.
