Isiah Sabajo

My interest in dentistry began at a young age. At the age of nineteen, I made a conscious decision to pursue a career in this field, and in 2018 I started working as a dental assistant. I quickly discovered how much I enjoy working with children.

In 2021, I began the Oral Health Therapy programme at the Suriname College of Applied Dentistry in Paramaribo, graduating in 2025. As an Oral Health Therapist, I received broad training in oral hygiene, restorative treatment, and the extraction of teeth in both children and adults. My training also placed a strong emphasis on paediatric dentistry and child psychology. I am currently in the process of having my international qualification recognised and converted to the appropriate Dutch professional title.

My main passion lies in paediatric dentistry. I approach children in a calm, playful and child-friendly way, while making sure parents are clearly involved in the treatment process. My aim is for children to leave the treatment room not only with a healthier mouth, but also with greater confidence. For this reason, I believe it is important to introduce children to good oral care in a positive way from the moment their first teeth appear.

I also greatly enjoy providing oral health education to children, both individually and in groups. By using clear explanations, practical examples and a variety of educational materials, I try to make oral care as understandable and enjoyable as possible.
